Duch and Kodi

Even Duchess and Kodi got spruced up for the grandparental wedding last weekend.
I pinned some flowers on Duch's collar.
She's 15 and having trouble getting around sometimes, but I'm should I would at 105 years old, too!

Kodi got a bow tie. It wasn't exactly a "black tie affair," but he looked dashing nonetheless.
The bow tie didn't slow him down annihilating a dog toy, either.
He's fat 'n happy in Kentucky now.

I'm glad these two have each other. They sure are some wonderful dogs. :)

I just have a sec but wanted to show proof of the curls. :)

BigBoy is lovin the crawling, by the way. He's always trying to help her do it better.
Today I walked in on him lightly stroking her cheek and saying "I so proud of you, Baby Girl." (Melt my heart.)

I have a feeling he won't be so sweet the first time he finds his light saber wet with slobber.

I have quite a few pictures from our trip to TN/KY. I'm going to have to break them up into different posts so I have time to get other things done.

These two caught my eye:

It seems that Sally and BabyCakes are in cahoots already. I was the one taking the pictures and I know she (Sally) didn't plan for them to come out this way, but they did.
I think I should be scared.

Only a few short days after these pictures were taken, BabyCakes became a new woman! She's now a curly-haired Crawler! Yes, CRAWLER. Her hair is officially curling and she's officially crawling!

Let the baby-proofing begin.

We're home.

That's all I can muster after a long week day in the car.

At least there were no fires this time.

I'm in stitches

I found a couple new things for BabyCakes' nursery recently.
One was this thrift store find that was $10. It might as well have been $100, the way I felt parting with that much money at a thrift store. I really liked it for her room, though.

Next I found a quilted pillow sham I loved. the back was even yellow like her crib bedding. What use would I have for one quilted sham, though? When I saw the 25 cent price tag (yard sale), I decided it was coming home with me and we'd figure out the rest later. I loved the design and the fabrics used... it was just so sweet.

I stuffed it with a pillow and propped it up in her rocking chair. That's when it hit me: put the cushion inside the sham! (an exclamation point may seem a bit unnecessary at this point, but that's how excited I was!) :)

(Before)

I used the ties on the back of the sham to attach it to the chair. See? It was meant to be

.

I think it looks cute like this until Baby Cakes has a twin bed and I can use the sham as it was intended.

(After)

Have I mentioned how much I love her room? :)

P.S. We have a lot of things planned for the next week or so, so I won't be posting... just wanted you to know.

Taking pictures of babies is hard.

I thought I'd be a good daughter and take some pictures of my children together for the grandparents. BabyCakes was in a post-meal good mood and BigBoy was performing for popsicles like a trained seal.
I literally threw the clothes on them, grabbed my stuff, and rushed to the back yard.

Hmm... not feelin the cheese today. Come on, kids, ham it up nice for mama!

So hard to get pretty "grandparent" pictures that aren't posey at this age.
Oh well, I tried.

(I promise hope this is the last of the white rocking chair you will see for a while.)

Grandparents, the real BigBoy and BabyCakes is going to have to cut it.

This morning we went to see Biz and LadyBug (and Miss Rachel, of course!).

BabyCakes enjoyed slobbering all over playing with LadyBug's toys. This is the only picture I have of her from this morning. I tried some outside but by that time she was ready to go home for a nap.

LadyBug was super-happy and smiley today. I'm glad my camera doesn't scare her anymore.

BigBoy didn't quite know what to think of the hammock but Biz was quite comfy. Don't you love the tutu?

I love that he has a ball in his hand (while holding onto the hammock for dear life) and she has Disney princesses in hers. :) This is so them right now.

Biz, he would only do this for you, darlin.
