Bass Lake

Sunday morning the kids were sneezing and snotting all over the place so we decided not to inflict them on our fellow church-goers.  We were 99% certain it was allergy-related but still didn't want to push it.

Instead we went to Bass Lake, a park in Holly Springs, which is the next town over.

The park is considered a fishing lake.

It has a 3 mile walking trail around it and a very nice community center.

They rent out small boats, canoes and even fishing poles, all for a low cost.

Or you can bring your own gear and fish for free.

There are benches, rocking chairs, and even public restrooms.

Even if you don't fish, this clean park is a wonderful destination for those seeking peace or just walking the dog.

You can bring your family along to explore a bit like we did.

(I don't have a lick of makeup on in this photo but at least I am in it.  Am I really that pale?)

It was a relaxing morning and the lake was a nice place for an outing, whether you're a family of four...

or you have a whole flock. ;)
